Taylor Glacier
Hello & Welcome to my blog "Mysterious Fact" today we are going to talk about blood falls yeah it sounds creepy but there is a scientific reason behind these falls.
Blood falls, named Taylor Glacier, is an Antarctic glacier about 54 km (34 mi) long, located on an ice-covered surface in West Lake Bonney in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Victoria Land in East Antarctica. Due to the red color of the water flowing people start calling it blood falls.
Some researchers trying to solve this mystery past 106 years, & there are 3 different theories to explain why the water of the falls is red, let's see which one failed & which one succeed.

Some researchers trying to solve this mystery past 106 years, & there are 3 different theories to explain why the water of the falls is red, let's see which one failed & which one succeed.
The first attempt to find out happened in 1911 by the Australian Geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor. According to his research, the reason for the red-colored water was red-colored algae that had frozen on the upper layer of the glacier. Due to this, the color of the water flowing from the glacier turned red. His theory has points but has not been proved.
The 2nd attempt happened in 2003 by other researchers, according to their research, the reason for red water was given the high amount of iron salt in the water. This research was percent correct but not proven.
The third attempt was proved in 2017, Jessica Badgeley a graduate student at Colorado college in the US, glacial scientist Erin Petit of the University of Alaska, & their team discovered the reason for the red water in the glacier. they found out that this red water is falling from a huge pond, which has been buried under this Taylor Glacier for the last several years. Researchers believed that as this water freezes, it gives off heat. This heat heats the ice from all sides, due to this process these chemical reactions are happening & red-colored water is coming out of the glacier.
